In a bizarre turn of events, a high-speed pursuit concluded with a suspect drinking vodka while being apprehended. The incident began when deputies spotted a stolen SUV running a red light and they attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled, leading officers on a chase that reached speeds exceeding 100 mph. Despite deploying a Grappler device and executing two PIT maneuvers, the suspect continued to evade capture. Finally, a second PIT maneuver successfully disabled the vehicle. As deputies approached, the suspect exited the SUV and took a swig from a bottle of vodka, ignoring commands to surrender. After discarding the bottle and complying with orders, he was arrested without further incident. Authorities later learned from a passenger that the driver had been drinking throughout the chase.
