Police responded to a reported stolen vehicle. When they attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled and the stop was terminated with spiking and pit maneuver. The suspect fled and a K9 was deployed on a straight take. As K9 closed in, the suspect surrendered and K9 was recalled just before going in for a bite, demonstrating the capability of well trained K9’s to take commands and quickly change course. Driver was arrested for attempting to elude, possession of a stolen car, and reckless endangerment.
