A strange chase unfolded when police pursued a suspect operating a stolen excavator. The heavy machine moved at walking pace—around 3 mph—forcing patrol cars to slow, stop, and coordinate traffic to keep the pursuit going. After more than an hour, the excavator became stuck on fairgrounds property. The suspect fled on foot but was ultimately captured with help from a drone and K-9 team.
