Cops save boy and father from overturned SUV

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

Shortly after noon police responded to a two-vehicle crash, in which white SUV had overturned, partially resting atop a smaller car . Responding officers quickly ensured the adult driver was safe and then focused on the rear passenger seat, where a seven year old boy was trapped. Body camera footage shows an officer cutting through a deployed airbag and gently coaxing the child out through the back passenger door. The officer then carried the boy to safety on the sidewalk, where the child gave a high five and said he was “good.” Both the father and son escaped with only minor injuries, thanks to wearing seat belts. The police department emphasized the crucial role seat belt use played in the positive outcome, urging all drivers and passengers to buckle up every time.
